If you've been here for a while, you may have seen me use the phrase "become who you are". I find this to be a compelling and true reflection of what it means to aim at your goals, rather
than simply "...who you could be".
And every now and then, we get a glimpse of who we are.
As a coach, I want you to get those glimpses more often, and ultimately reveal who you are. That can be difficult, as there are many obstacles that lie in the way of your revelation.
Television tempts you.
Desserts are delicious.
Your phone wants to engulf you.
The couch is magnetic.
And the ease at which the excuse-button presents itself is sometimes irresistible.
Behind all of these obstacles lies a person at whom you get a glimpse every now and then, and that person is impressive. This is a person who has command over their decisions, intent behind their actions, and a trail of positive life outcomes to show for it.
For me, there is no better feeling than the last hour of a good day. When the work is done, you've made the decisions that you know were the right ones, and you really did exactly what you said you would do. What a feeling.
As you begin to string these days together, the way in which your life can improve is astonishing, and it can seem that way from outside. People wonder how you do it all, how you became this person, and how they might replicate your transformation.
But really, you did nothing special. You didn't become anyone. You may have transformed physically, but you remain the same person. All you did was reveal that person. You brought your greatness out from behind the obstacles, dusted it off, and made it manifest in the world.
This is something we can all do. And can you imagine how good things might get?
Imagine a world where all of us really aimed at what we viewed as our ideal and followed
through on that every single day. Where all of us really revealed who we are. How might your life be different? And the lives of those around you? And the world at large?
That is what I want for you.
For followers and clients of Triage, I want you to become who you are.
That's what I want for myself, and it's certainly how our company wishes to serve you. If there is a major obstacle in your way, or you need advice as to how you can reveal this person, let me help you for free.
