I was somewhat surprised by the proportion of “no” votes here, as I expected it to be more like 90/10.
I find it hard to think of any possible way that 200 calories of milk chocolate (which is “bad”) could somehow impede fat loss over say 200 calories of 85% dark chocolate (which we call “healthy”).
Remember, fat loss takes place as a result of being in negative energy balance. This means that one must consume less calories than they burn. The body then has to use its own stored energy, and the largest energy store is your body fat. While muscle can be lost, this is less likely when one is consuming sufficient protein and engaging in resistance training.
I understand where people are coming from, but perform the thought experiment…,
