The intellectual isolation of filter bubbles is fairly worrying.
> have certain beliefs about how the world works
> consume information aligned with said beliefs
> get those beliefs reinforced ad infinitum by subsequent content exposure
*add cognitive biases for a perfect storm*
For those unaware, "filter bubble" is a term used to describe a situation in which you are only fed online information that you are likely to want to consume, i.e. that which will reinforce your pre-existing beliefs.
